Kurt Wehner is a founding member of Woodlawn Theatre, Inc. and serves as the President of the Board of Directors. Kurt Wehner’s background includes experience in construction, design and business. Kurt uses this experience to create the sets and atmospheres for our stage productions. He also is responsible for the complex rigging of the theatre including curtains, scenic drops, lighting and effects, sound equipment and flying effects. Kurt also acts as the Director of Finance and Accounting for Woodlawn Theatre, Inc. In addition to his responsibilities at the Theatre, Kurt serves on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Theatre Coalition, which represents and promotes the area’s theatre community.Greg Hinojosa is excited to join the team at Woodlawn Inc. A San Antonio native, Greg brings over twenty five years of professional theatre experience to the Woodlawn. He is a graduate from Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he earned a B.A. in Theatre Arts/ Speech Communications and Art. He has worked professionally in regional theatres across the United States including Santa Fe Stages, The Springer Opera House, The Magik Children’s Theatre of San Antonio and The Repertory Theatre of America. He has worked as a Director, Actor, Scenic Designer, Costume Designer, and Make-up Artist throughout the country, but is happy to call San Antonio home! Greg has been honored with Alamo Theatre Arts Awards for his work as an actor and director in “I am My Own Wife”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Santos y Santos”,” Once Upon a Mattress”,” Of Mice and Men”, “Chicago” and “Scrooge, the Musical” and “Christmas in Blueville”. He also is a board member of the San Antonio Theater Coalition. He looks forward to the challenges of creating a new artistic vision for the Woodlawn Theatre!
Board Members:
Francis Elborne graduated from the University of Wales , where he met his wife Vivienne, and has over thirty years management experience. He and his family came to San Antonio from England in 1984, where he had been Managing Director of the family automobile dealership, music director for several London churches and Music Master at the Salesian College. In San Antonio, Francis served as Music Director and then as Executive Director of the San Pedro Playhouse for fourteen years, producing musicals and plays for San Antonio audiences. He managed financial matters, organized fund-raising and publicity; and introduced a children’s education program. He also served as Music Director at Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church for twelve years. More recently he was Director of Operations at several national hotel chains and a hotel General Manager in Boston and New Jersey. In this capacity he was responsible for all aspects of hotel management, from housekeeping, maintenance and reservations to catering, sales and financials, as well as human resources. Francis enjoys live theatre, music and opera, and is the Music Director of All Saints Anglican Church as well as the Human Resources Manager for Griswold Special Care. He is the holder of the Sara Barton Bindley Award for Outstanding Services to Live Theatre. He is married with two children and four grandsons. Jacob is the proud owner of Deco Pizzeria and a member of the San Antonio Historic Society.
Frank is a Certified Structural Technician and is the commercial sales manager for Advanced Foundation Repair. He attended The University of Texas at San Antonio, and has been in the foundation repair business for over 15 years. He is a member of the San Antonio, Austin, and Houston Builder’ Associations as well as their Apartment Associations. He is also a member of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the Foundation Repair Association. He is the proud parent of a seven year old daughter and very involved at Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School, where she attends 1stgrade. He gained an appreciation for theatre through watching his daughter on stage, and is an active volunteer in The Woodlawn Theatre’s children’s program. Crystal L Ragsdale is currently in the advertising/marketing industry inSan Antonio. She is also a free-lance writer, currently in pursuit of a real estate license and is the proud mother of two little girls that consume all of her spare time. A 1997 graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio(BA Communications), Crystal is also a native of the Rio GrandeValley. Crystal’s passion for theatre started in the 9thgrade, she was a 4 year member of her high school’s Speech and Debate team and later pursued a position on the Nationally Ranked UTSA Debate Team. “If you can teach a child determination, dedication and drive at a young age, how can they fail? The theatre will teach them all of those things. I’m excited to be a member of this vivacious board.” Dr. Kim Ross has been involved with theatre and theatre classes with her children for six years. She has three talented little girls that love the stage. Danielle 12, Gabby 10, and Giavanna 8. The girls sang, danced, and tapped their way through many youth and main stage productions at several theatres in San Antonio. Dr. Ross graduated Summa Cum Laude (first in her class) from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She obtained her medical degree from Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio, graduating at the top of her class. Dr. Ross then obtained the single Dermatology residency position at UT Health Science center in San Antonio. She has been practicing Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery in San Antonio, Texas and Seguin, Texas since January 2000. Dr Ross is frequently invited to participate and present at medical conferences. Since she joined the Woodlawn theatre, she has helped in several productions by working lights, sewing costumes, painting background scenes, and doing hair and makeup. Dr. Ross enjoys family theatre production and would like to continue to keep the theatre a fun and safe place for children to thrive. Sherry is a pathologist here in San Antonio, specializing in dermatopathology and ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration. She loves her busy career, and thrives on having pursuits outside of medicine as well. She has always loved theatre and dance, and met her husband Kurt 22 years ago while working together in a downtown Houston theatre that was very similar to the Woodlawn Theatre. Kurt and Sherry have two children, Wes, who will soon be an Aerospace Engineer major at Texas A&M, and Conley, a freshman at Northeast School of the Arts. Sherry is a member of the Alamo Theatre Arts Council board of directors, and serves as a musical theatre representative for NESA pARTners. She is currently the director of marketing and co-director of youth educational programs at The Woodlawn Theatre, but truly enjoys supporting all the wonderful theatres in town. She also loves traveling and seeing theatre productions in New York and around the world.

Fonda Gossen is long time patron of San Antonio theatre. As a parent of three, and one who is now an adult “theatre child,” she has seen hundreds of productions in San Antonio, as well as the behind the scenes. Fonda received her degree at the University of Texas, and as a retired high school math teacher now devotes her time to her husbands Gastroenterology practice. Fonda is proud to be a new member of the board where she can help promote theatre at the Woodlawn. You will never see Fonda on stage, but she does enjoy a good musical.
